Chen Yee & Yap, formerly known as Lim Chen Yee & Associates, is a boutique law firm founded by Lim Chen Yee (Daniel) in 2007. We advise individuals, businesses, financial institutions and corporate clients, delivering practical, responsive and commercially grounded legal solutions.
We have acted on loan documentation for Public Bank Berhad on an ad hoc basis since 2010, including Islamic loans, and have also handled loan documentation for AmBank.

Lim Chen Yee (Daniel), Managing Partner of the firm, graduated in 2000 with a double degree — a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Commerce (Economics and Marketing) at the University of Sydney, New South Wales. He then completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the University of Wollongong, where he was nominated for the Bill Macquarie Prize as one of three outstanding graduates in the class of 2001.
Chen Yee was admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2001, practised law in Sydney, and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2003.
He has since built a practice of over 19 years, encompassing conveyancing, commercial, banking and civil litigation, specialising in commercial and contract disputes, probate and estate administration. He has acted for individual clients, businesses and financial institutions across a broad range of transactional and contentious matters, and is known for careful legal execution, practical client advice and direct personal involvement in every matter handled by the firm.
His dual admission and Australian legal background position the firm to advise on matters with an Australian dimension, including cross-border transactions, commercial matters and estate administration involving assets in both jurisdictions.

Phoebe Yap graduated with an LLB (First Class Honours) from the University of Malaya. She also holds an MBA from Cranfield University and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification. Phoebe was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1985.
Phoebe brings to the practice over 40 years of experience spanning capital markets, corporate finance, corporate banking, and legal and regulatory practice with leading international institutions, including bonds and sukuk, REIT-related transactions and other capital market solutions. Her experience contributes a broader commercial and strategic perspective to the firm, enhancing its ability to serve business owners, corporate clients and financial institutions.

Athirah Bahari holds an LLB (Hons) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), where she was placed on the Dean's List, and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2013.
Athirah has substantial experience in conveyancing, banking, corporate law and advisory work, with exposure to a broad range of property transactions and banking documentation involving major financial institutions including Maybank, CIMB, Hong Leong Bank, RHB Bank, AmBank, Affin Bank and Public Bank.
Her corporate and advisory experience includes legal due diligence on corporate entities and land matters, as well as the drafting and negotiation of joint venture agreements, shareholders' agreements, construction and development contracts, and novation and procurement agreements. She has also been actively involved in housing development projects including Airria Kundang, Airria Plus Square and Lagenda Ardea @ Tanjung Malim.
